Deed Restriction Survey - Feedback requested

The Deed Restriction Renewal Committee is working expeditiously to revise Deed Restrictions for the Association.

We have created a generalized set of Deed Restrictions to give you an idea of what the most recent Sections have moved toward. You can view that document here.

In addition, we have created a survey to receive feedback on the changes which are most impactful to the way you can build and live on your lot.

We ask that you take the following steps to partner with us.  The survey will be only available through October 9th, 2017. Please make every effort to communicate your input prior to that time. Only one response per address.

Please note that Sections 1, 7C, 8i, and 8D have recently been revised and are not up for renewal.  For those Sections, we are surveying for information in anticipation of a possible future revision.

Please use the ‘Find Your Section Tool’ on the MCIA website.  It can be found here.

Please read your current set of Deed Restrictions.  They can be found here.

Complete the survey, which can be found here.  Please note, you MUST know in which Section your home is located in order to take the survey.

Any feedback regarding your current set of Deed Restrictions and their revision should be communicated to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. , or mailed to the MCIA office at the below address.  The comments period is not subject to the survey date, but communicating your thoughts quickly is strongly encouraged.

Harvey Storm Debris Pickup

Storm Debris Pick-up Update

As the City of Houston continues FEMA contracted debris pick-up in Meyerland, here are a few updates and pointers:

Pick-up is being done in two phases and the second phase will not begin until everyone has had the first pick-up.   Because each home is generating up to 1-1/2 tractor trailers of debris, the process will take time.

You can make the process faster and easier!

  • Make sure debris are placed no deeper than 10 feet from the curb, away from trees, light posts, fire hydrants, and other obstacles otherwise FEMA trucks cannot service it.
  • Keep the street clear of vehicles which will block access ot make sure someone is available to move a vehicle quickly
  • Contact 311 and request a pick-up for your address. (Multiple request calls are not needed, as an address is recorded once for pick-up.) To avoid phone wait times, use the website (www.houstontx.gov/311) to Report Harvey Debris

For the second phase, the City asks that debris be separated into

1) construction & demolition debris
2) appliances
3) electronics
4) household hazardous waste (paint, oil, pesticides, etc.)
5) normal household
6) vegetative debris.

See www.houstonsolidwaste.org for more information and updates.  If you need help to sort debris, relocate debris curbside, or other free assistance, please call the City at 211 and request volunteer help.

please see the pictured sorting guide below for the second phase pickup.

Use of Temporary Structures During Flood Reconstruction

Understanding the need to respond to the flood event, the MCIA Board of Directors has voted to allow the temporary use of mobile/motor homes, trailers, and temporary storage units according to the following guidelines:

  • The lot being used must have a home under repair for flood damage.
  • The temporary home/storage unit must be place on the driveway of the home and not in the street (exceptions may be made on a case by case basis).
  • If the mobile home is to tie into the city’s sewer system, it must be done per permit.

Mobile/Motor Homes:  Allowed on lots affected by flooding and under repair until December 31st, 2017.

Temporary Storage Units: Allowed on lots affected by flooding through March 31st, 2018.

Application Fees Waived

Effective immediately, the MCIA Board has waived all construction application fees through March 31, 2018
